Oak sap in my driveway
Sticky soles
I run out to greet you
I wish you could stay
Drizzles in California
Wetting rusty fences
The sky weeps on cracked tennis courts
I wish today lasted decades.
Sun rays warm our laced fingers
Messy hair tumbled by the wind
Golden gate above sea salt
I wish I could hold you forever.
